Association of founders and owners of private geodetic organizations of Serbia "GEOUDRUŽENJE", was founded in Beigrade In May of 2006. That Is the only association of private geodesists, registered pursuant to the Law on Assoclations and registered in the Registry of Associations, It was founded as non-government non-profit organization, registered as legal entity.

By adopting the Law about Amendments to the Law on State Survey and Cadastre and Registration of Real Estate Rights, in May 2002, (Službeni glasnik RS, No. 83/92, 53/93, 67/93, 48/94, 12/96, 15/96, 34/2001 and 25/2002) defined the legal framework for establishment of geodetic organizations and competence of their work. To be more precise, by the Law were transferred the powers to private geodetic organizations in process of maintaining land cadastre as well as real estate cadastre for field works.
